Phoenix Suites, 790 Montgomery Hwy, Suite 121, in Vestavia Hills, next door to Publix. The lot is free. The entrance is the front door. Suite 121 is on the ground floor, no stairs between the car and the chair.
Clients come from Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Cahaba Heights, and across Birmingham. Some travel further: Atlanta, Nashville, Mobile, New Orleans. Say so when you write, and the consultation and the appointment are arranged around a single trip.
Preparing for your consultation.
None of this is required. All of it helps.
- Clean, dry hair. No heavy oils, dry shampoo, or styling product.
- Your hair worn as you always wear it, so we can read its texture, density, and parting.
- Inspiration photographs: styles, colors, lengths, the coverage you have in mind.
- Anything you already own. A wig, a topper, a set of extensions.
- No cutting, coloring, or chemical treatment beforehand.
- A sense of your life. The maintenance that suits it, the comfort you need, the budget you have in mind.
- Your questions. Fit, styling, care, how long a piece lasts.
- Anything we should know. Scalp sensitivity, allergies, a recent change in your hair.
Most importantly, come as you are. The room is private and the time is yours. Nothing here asks you to explain yourself.

Where is The Alternative Salon located?
The salon is in Phoenix Suites at 790 Montgomery Hwy, Suite 121, in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, next door to Publix. Parking is a free lot, the entrance is the front door, and the suite is on the ground floor.
Do you take walk-ins?
Every visit is by appointment. Seeing one client at a time is what keeps the room private, so there is no waiting area and no chance of running into someone you know.
How long does a first consultation take?
Plan on about thirty minutes. That is enough time to talk through your hair, look at options in person, and decide together what suits you. The fee is $100, applied in full toward your first purchase.
What should I bring to my consultation?
Inspiration photos are the most useful thing you can bring: styles, colors, lengths, and the coverage you have in mind. If you already own a wig, topper, or set of extensions, bring those as well.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Let us know as early as you can and we will find you another time. The $100 consultation fee is forfeited for a cancellation, since the room and the time were held for you alone.
